What the Vault is for
The Vault holds the details Orin needs to fill in forms on websites for you: logins, payment cards, addresses, and contact details. Everything saved in the Vault is encrypted.
How Orin uses it
When a website needs a login or a card, Orin fills the saved details directly into that site’s form. The part of Orin that talks with you does not read those values, and they are never repeated back to you in a message.
The Vault is only used on websites. Your email and calendar are reached through the accounts you connected, never with a password from the Vault.
Adding items
You can add items yourself in the Vault. When Orin needs a login or card it does not have, it sends you a secure link where you can save it. Once you are done, reply “done” and Orin will continue. Please do not send passwords, card numbers, or verification codes in a message.
Importing passwords from Chrome
You can import passwords you exported from Google Password Manager as a CSV file. The file is read in your own browser during the import. Chrome exports passwords as plain text, so delete the file once the import is complete.
Sign-ins without a password
You can also bring over the websites you are already signed into in Chrome, so Orin does not need a password for them at all. See how your sign-ins are stored.
